Miniature Cupboard and Case of Drawers #77, circa 1840
This stunning piece was built at the Harvard, MA community by Brother Seth Blanchard. The unusual organization of drawers attests to both the particular attention to specific need or use and to the exceptionally high degree of design sensitivity. This is not to mention the patience it requires to make all those drawers in a decreasing number of rows, each in a graduated height. I won't even mention that each drawer is fully box jointed! The knobs become a dramatic secondary design element. The original rests in the Fruitland Museum in Harvard.
